St. John's, NL – Memorial University Men's Basketball Head Coach Ian Coultas is excited to announce the addition of Andrew "Drew" Robinson, a 6'6 guard from Thornlea Secondary School in Ontario.
A long, athletic perimeter player with big-time upside, Robinson brings size and versatility to the Sea-Hawks backcourt. With a strong frame and high motor, he adds depth and physicality to a growing Memorial roster.
Robinson has previously been selected to elite national showcases, including the Hardwood Classic All Canadian and the Biosteel All-Canadian Futures Game in 2019–20—highlighting his potential and reputation within Canadian basketball circles.
He plans to study Business Administration at Memorial and is excited for what's ahead as he takes the next step in his playing career.
"I'm looking forward to building with a strong group of guys and winning games," Robinson said.
When asked why he chose Memorial, he emphasized the direction the program is heading.
"The strong relationship that's being built and the opportunity."
Sea-Hawks fans can expect a player who competes with purpose.
"I'm a guy that's looking to leave it all on the floor every night."
Coach Coultas expressed his excitement about finally adding Robinson to the program:
"I've been following Drew for a few years now, and I'm excited that we finally get the chance to bring him to Memorial. He's going to have the opportunity to expand his game here, and I'm looking forward to seeing how his diverse skillset fits into our team this season."
The Sea-Hawks are thrilled to welcome Drew Robinson to St. John's as preparations begin for the 2025–26 season.
